Van Vleck House & Gardens
About the Place
Van Vleck House and Gardens is a private estate with a garden. The 12-acre estate was built by a businessman Joseph Van Vleck Sr., more than 140 years ago. In 1933, the family gifted the house and gardens to the Montclair Foundation. The foundation allows members of the public to visit the estate to enjoy the greenery. There are concerts and other special events that take place in the estate. The house is available for non-profit organizations to hold fundraisers and meetings.
The Gardens
The gardens in the estate are an oasis in Montclair and are a visual treat. This is why thousands of people visit the gardens. The gardens have the following:

The Gardens as a venue
The house and the garden are available as a venue for various events. The following are the details of the same:
• Photography sessions are permitted. Prior permission is required. $300 is the permit fee for portraitures. $500 is the permit for wedding parties, subject to a maximum of 25 people. The garden is also available for film shoots and for commercial photography.
• Non-profit organizations are permitted to conduct meetings and other activities at the house. The venue set in a beautiful garden would be ideal for deliberations. Fundraisers, meetings, and other events can be planned and conducted.
• While the venue is not available for weddings, members can use the premises to organize birthday parties.
